The Fire Protection Association (FPA) is the UK’s national fire safety organisation with headquarters located on the site of the Fire Service College in Moreton-in-Marsh. Through its Technical, Publications and Education & Training Divisions, FPA supports the full range of relevant services to its members and customers.
The Technical Division of the FPA operates a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers dedicated to the provision of expert guidance in all areas of risk reduction and loss mitigation to support the demands of the UK insurance industry, government, military and commerce. In appreciation of an ongoing expansion programme, a new role of Associate Director - Project Consultancy has been created to work alongside the Associate Director for Fire & Risk Services, to support the FPA’s Technical Director.
The Project Consultancy Group comprises a £1m business stream servicing the annual UK insurers’ research budget (InFiReS) and the Special Projects Group that creates and maintains core loss control publications and conducts large-scale research in pursuit of their development and other blue-skies initiatives.
The appropriate candidate will ideally have experience of working within an R&D environment with a history related to loss prevention and protection. They should be experienced in the management of departmental budgets, research budget allocation, project management and delivery of quality assurance. Experience of working with key insurance, military, government and research organisations would be beneficial.
Salary and package will be based upon experience and the role will be based at the Moreton-in-Marsh offices.
